JMD was born Joshua Darnell Hughes on february 26th 1989 in Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. He lived in the Oak Park area until he was 7 years old, then his family moved to the westside of Chicago. He graduated from Lane Technical College Prep High School in 2007. He attends Salvation and Deliverance Ministries International. He has been a member there for over 15 years and was called to ministry there. He is a young man on fire for God and has high hopes for his future in the ministry of music.

Jonathan "J-hawk" hawkins. was born february 17th 1989 in chicago, IL. He attended michelle clark high school. He is currently a student at Malcolm X college. Jonathan first discovered his ability to rap when he was in the fourth grade. When he was 20 years old he joind his best friend Joshua "JMD" Hughes at Salvation and Deliverance Ministries, where he became a member and then started to do gospel rap.
